Welcome This site is an open workbook which we use to make our personal investing. It is designed to show the short, intermediate and longer term trends of the market. Virtually all major index and sectors are charted each evening along with opportunistic scans (these change periodically given the prevailing market dynamics). This site is comprehensive, yet extremely simple to navigate. (see below for navigation briefs). The comments made within the site are objective and for our personal reference. The sole intent of the dynamic open workbook format is for educational use, if you are an educator within a reputable university or college please contact Blaine at Info@thresholdtrading.com for a special rate for you and your students. There is risk and uncertainty in investing which cannot be completely eliminated, however, through objective use of technical analysis we believe it can be significantly reduced and controlled. The layout of the site is quite simple...........look to the left and you will see a hyperlink which will take you to topics of interest. The members home page looks something like this:
The first thing you see is the 'sentiment' indicator for the next trading day (only relevant if you are a relatively short term trader). This indicator tracks 10 widely used sentiment indicators with each one being bullish, neutral or bearish for the next day or two. Following the next days sentiment indicator is the pre-open commentary for the next trading day. This is our expectations of short term market direction based on sentiment and general technical conditions. Our longer term market comments / expectations are located under each Index or Sector hyperlink located to the left of what you are currently reading. General Navigation of the site: (brief summary of all the topics to the left) Quick View of Index/Sectors Short term (60 min charts) - this link updated daily shows the short term (60 min charts) for all the major indices and sectors......these charts are posted so you can simply scroll down the page and quickly see the short term trend / supports, resistance and consolidations which may be in play. Intermediate term (end of day charts) - this link updated daily shows the intermediate term (end of day charts) for all the major indices and sectors......these charts are posted so you can simply scroll down the page and quickly see the intermediate term trend / supports, resistance and consolidations which may be in play. Long term (weekly charts) - this link updated daily shows the long term (weekly charts updated and posted daily) for all the major indices and sectors......these charts are posted so you can simply scroll down the page and quickly see the long term trend / supports, resistance and consolidations which may be in play. Bulletin Board - This is REAL TIME discussion by Threshold traders and members............posting of intraday setups and ideas are available here if you can't find what you need elsewhere on the site............or if you just gotta have 24/7 action. End of day setups (longer term)- These are setups posted by Threshold, the vast majority of them are longer term (anywhere from 1 week to 3 months) in nature and are updated DAILY. The setups generally show entry, exit points and typically have at minimum of 1 point risk for 6 point reward ratio. The setups are based on end of day or weekly charts. End of day setups (short term)- These setups will change periodically given market conditions, however, they will mostly be double top and bottoms as these offer attractive risk / reward opportunities for short term traders. In volatile market environments, double tops are objective short candidates and double bottoms are objective long candidates. Hard Sell-offs - This is another scan that will change from time to time given market dynamics, however, hard sell-offs suggest PANIC in a stock and opportunistic traders need to be ready to buy these at STRONG supports for a bounce. Volatile trading stocks - There are approximately 40 -50 volatile trading stocks updated here each day, the charts show intermediate term trend / supports, resistance and consolidations which may be in play. Many people like to trade options around volatile stocks at important support and resistance levels. Index and Sector charts - Daily and weekly charts (updated daily) of the major index and sectors. We update with objective comments at important support or resistance thresholds, the comments are based on the trend and price action at the support or resistance areas. Daily updates are added to the opening comments on the home page, to fine tune the daily action. Weekly Market comments - These comments are longer term in nature and based on point & figure bullish percents as they are one of the purest forms of technical analysis to ascertain overall market risk. Educational charts - These are likely the most comprehensive educational charts available.........they are a MUST see for first time technicians or for those who have been around the block a time or two. If you don't review and understand the evolution of patterns............shame on you, as these charts will show you bullish or bearish evolution. Additionally........there is very little education done on trading GAPS and to be perfectly honest......you can make a VERY good living trading ONLY gaps. So study these thoroughly or you are missing some of the most objective trading available to you. Last but not least........if you are not prepared to learn.........then you will likely have a negative if not overwhelming experience with the market, as it is dynamic and does not care about you . It takes some commitment, however, it is said 'Fundamental analysis can tell you WHAT to buy.........Technical analysis can tell you WHEN to buy' of course this little statement was done before most of Wall Street Analyst were put in JAIL for literally looting the public with fundamental analysis that had no merit. If you are prepared to learn, then you should find this site to be a VERY useful tool for you. |
